Following the pre-massage consultation, where you will identify your specific areas of need, we will start with you undressing, hanging up your clothes, and positioning yourself face-down on the massage table.
If you select to have a Body Scrub, I will do this before starting the massage to exfoliate your sking. As depicted in the photo above, I apply a foaming body soap and scrub it off with specially designed textured gloves that will remove a layer of skin. The result is a very smooth touch to your skin - head to toe.
We will begin your massage session with a 5-minute segment where a heavily-weighted blanket is placed on your backside; this is a comforting exercise that feels like a big bear hug.
The blanket is removed and the session begins where I work on your shoulders, neck, and upper/lower back. I then move onto your gluteus maximus where several different techniques are applied to help reduce the build-up of stress. I then move down to your legs where I apply some pressure to relieve tension and in the thigh and calf. Before having your roll over onto your back, I return to apply some additional attention to your buttock; employing the self-described "Korean Technique", which was influenced by my first trip to South Korea.
Once on your backside, I begin with an exercise where your leg is raised and stretched, resulting in a pull in your lower back to release any pain. I then employ a Thai technique which gently stretches the ligaments of your thigh, in a slow upward push toward your groin. The procedure is repeated on both legs, followed by a stretching of the calf.
Once the lower body is completed, I focus attention on your upper body, paying attention to your pelvis, abdomen, and breast regions.
The weighted blanket returns as you enter the recovery phase. Many clients will fall asleep at this stage. Bottled water is available when you leave the table and dress.
